February 27, 2009

Poetry

Spider wading in the Gulf,
Underbelly sucking oil, eyes
Gleaming from landing pads,
Fish nibbling chitinous legs.

Diesel organs pump blood, and
Men, like aphids, gather
The sugars of need.
